MUSIC LICENSING MANAGER

We are currently seeking for a Music Licensing Manager for our Licensing Department.

|   RESPONSIBILITIES   |  

  • • Manage and maintain relationships with major and independent record companies and music publishers regarding Stingray’s use of music in its products
  • • Interact with local and international rights collective societies, such as SOCAN, SODRAC, ASCAP, BMI, and SACEM
  • • Research information for Stingray’s songs
  • • Request synchronization, mechanical, download and other licenses on Stingray’s behalf
  • • Respond to inquiries and concerns from Stingray’s music partners
  • • Work closely with the Research and Studio Staff on publishing and productions schedules
  • • Work closely with Stingray management to identify and resolve product licensing issues
  • • Research and identify new licensing requirements and opportunities
  • • Maintain license files
  • • Receive and respond to e-mail and letter correspondence pertaining to licensed customers and general inquiries
  • • Participation in team meetings
  • • Other duties as required

|   REQUIRED SKILLS   |  

  • • DEC (and/or equivalent training and/or experience)
  • • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (new media industry, music publisher, rights collective societies, digital music industry, and music video games)
  • • Excellent knowledge of English and French (spoken and written)
  • • Extensive knowledge in the licensing and clearance of music
  • • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • • Computer literacy, required: Internet, Outlook, MS Word & Excel
  • • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • • Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment
JAVA / J2EE DEVELOPER

Reporting to the Chief Architect, the Java/J2EE Developer’s role will be to develop server-side components for the company’s multimedia applications.

|   RESPONSIBILITIES   |  

  • • Implement server components of our applications
  • • Participate actively in the elaboration of the architecture design
  • • Make sure that the code is functioning properly and efficiently
  • • Work closely with artists, managers and teammates.

|   REQUIRED SKILLS   |  

  • • Excellent knowledge of Java and J2EE programming languages (JMS, EJB, JSP, Servlet)
  • • Hands-on experience with at least one of the J2EE servers (Websphere, Weblogic, JBoss, etc.)
  • • Experience executing J2EE application under Linux
  • • Good knowledge of XML and SOAP
  • • Good knowledge of frameworks: Hibernate, Spring, JUnit, etc.
  • • Must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the following fields: computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer sciences
  • • Experience with MySql would be an asset
SOFTWARE PROGRAMMER

As Software Programmer, you will be working within a team of 4-5 developers. Under the Team Leader’s supervision, your role will be to develop and maintain our multimedia applications.

  • • Participate actively in the elaboration of the application design
  • • Make sure that the code is functioning properly and efficiently
  • • Deploy the application on different platforms
  • • Work closely with artists, managers and teammates

  • • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • • Expert in software design and object-oriented design
  • • Good knowledge of Flex/Flash programming
  • • Good knowledge of C++ and/or Java
  • • Must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the following fields: computer engineering, electrical engineering or computer sciences
TEAM LEADER

As a Team Leader you will be managing a group of 4-5 developers for our multimedia application.

  • • Work closely with teammates, Chief Architect and Art Director
